Green jewelry is jewelry made in a more sustainable way than most of jewelry available. The market for sustainable jewelry has grown over the past few years as people pay more attention to where what they're buying has come from.
Reclaimed Metals and Materials: "Metals used in green jewelry are not mined destructively as jewelry made with new gold, silver and other precious metals is. The metals are repurposed from other uses, refined and forged into a form a jeweler can work with.
- Reclaimed Copper -Sustainable copper jewelry comes from electrical wire and pipes, among other things.
- Reclaimed Silver and Gold -Silver can be reclaimed from old silverware or broken jewelry. Gold is also reclaimed from old jewelry and other applications for green jewelry.
- Green or Socially Responsible Stones -Green and socially responsible jewelry is as beautiful as are pieces made from non-sustainable practices. Stones used in green jewelry can have an inspiring story to rival the beauty of the piece."
Making green jewelry is very common nowadays, a lot of people who make jewelry make green jewelry without realising it's sustainability. You can make your old or broken jewelry into new and interesting pieces without spending any money. I could be really interesting to use shells or stones found on the beach or pieces of broken china or plastic form just around the house. I think it's turning out to be a new alternative to expensive jewelry which can be a nice way to save money on accessories, especially in the current economy.

I personally think this is really interesting!!
